Air Liquide is pursuing the development of its Home Healthcare activity in Europe with the acquisition of Optimal Medical Therapies (OMT)*, a major player in providing home healthcare services for patients in Germany suffering from chronic illnesses requiring infusion therapy.<\/strong><\/p>\nFounded in 1998,\u00a0OMT<\/strong>, which has\u00a045 employees<\/strong>, provides home healthcare services for around\u00a05,000 patients<\/strong>\u00a0and generated annual sales revenue of\u00a028 million euros in 2013<\/strong>. The company is recognized for its expertise in\u00a0home infusion services<\/strong>\u00a0that include\u00a0immunotherapy, pain management<\/strong>, and the treatment of\u00a0pulmonary hypertension<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Parkinson\u2019s disease<\/strong>. Its integrated offer combines prescribed medication, high technology medical device, and patient services that enable the latter to be treated at home rather than at the hospital, which in turn promotes greater autonomy.<\/p>\nVia this acquisition, which takes the form of a majority stake (65%), Air Liquide reinforces its position in the German home healthcare market. In 2011, the Group acquired\u00a0Licher Medical Therapy (LMT)<\/strong>, one of Germany\u2019s leading players in the area of medico-technical management at home with\u00a0infusion therapies<\/strong>\u00a0for patients suffering from\u00a0Parkinson\u2019s disease or immune deficiency<\/strong>. Air Liquide is already a\u00a0major player<\/strong>\u00a0in the French and Northern European infusion therapy markets.<\/p>\nAir Liquide will rely on the commitment of the two founding shareholders and on the expertise of the teams in place to pursue the development of OMT\u2019s business.<\/p>\n
