If your young one is ravenous for that cold, snowy animated movie (you know the one), use dry ice to lay the groundwork for your winter wonderland.
What you’ll need:
- 4 one-gallon buckets or similar containers
- Hot water
- Two to three pounds of Penguin Brand Dry Ice, available at a store near you
- Gloves
- Hammer/ice pick
- Towel
How to do it:
- While wearing gloves, wrap the dry ice in a towel and use the hammer or ice pick to break the dry ice into golf ball-sized chunks.
- Drop the chunks into buckets of hot water around your house or party area.
This will create a foggy, snow-like effect across the floor, getting everyone in the winter spirit regardless of the time of year. But no matter how badly the kids want to build a snowman, don’t let them touch the dry ice—safe usage is critical.

How to do it:
- Fill the container with hot water and place inside the cauldron.
